Karen Darby is a serial social entrepreneur – SimplySwitch.com is her third and most successful venture to date. Launched in 2002 with funding from Bridges Community Ventures, SimplySwitch.com has grown to become one of the UK’s leading price comparison services.
She sold her interests in 2006 to DMGT (owners of the Daily Mail) as part of a £22m deal and remains a spokesperson and consultant to the business.
In 2006 Karen won the Finance Award at the CBI’s First Women Awards and was a finalist in the Credit Suisse Entrepreneur of the Year award. Karen is a consumer champion and is regularly quoted in the national press.
